COMENIUS PROJECT IN ENVERMEU- France
Between Nov 17 and Nov 21 we met our friends from France, Belgium and Finland to work on the project “Remarkable trees”.
FIRST DAY : The apple day
We visted the village of
Brémontier-Merval,it`s a vocational high school. At the end of the day, we can
say that we know everything about apples:
- how to produce apples : we saw a lot of apple trees (this school has 450
different varieties of apple trees)
- how to eat apples : thanks to the restaurants
- how to drink apples : we visited the cider / Pommeau
/ Calvados factory. They are famous Norman typical alcohols
In the afternoon, we visited the landscape park of the school. We saw some beautiful trees. Some of them are remarkable as the 300 years old pear trees.
At the end of the day : working time!!!
SECOUND DAY: The beech day
We started the day by
working all together on the exhibition, students have to produce for the next meeting in Austria!
Then we went to visit a tree nursery and a very
impressive sawmill : the second one in Europe for producing beech sawings.
What's about remarkable trees? We saw two old
sequoias, and then 3 remarkable beech trees... We had to climb to see the last
one!
In order to conclude the day, Pierre Rohr made a
presentation about all the remarkable trees in Normandy! Thanks to him!
THIRD DAY: Culture day
We had a look to a very old church with a twisted steeple. These churches are very rare, not more than 90 of them you can find in Europe. In front of the church, we saw a yew, more than 1000 years old. We also met the Horticultural vocational High school in Offranville and the city of Dieppe with the museum of fine arts.
On our trip home on Friday, we had time for a short stop in Paris to make pictures from “Eiffelturm, Triumphbogen” and the Saine.
